12.16 and 12.16 Cycling Team invite you to 12.16 Saturday Ride, where there will be plenty of opportunities to air out the high profiles in an informal cycling community with speed in the field.
What is that all about?
12.16 Saturday Ride is a new initiative in and around Copenhagen aimed at race-oriented cycling enthusiasts of all ages and genders with a penchant for both speed and community. The same concept as our Wednesday rides... just on Saturdays.

How do the 12.16 Wednesday Ride and 12.16 Saturday Ride differ from many of the other options for social rides that exist in the Greater Copenhagen cycling environment?
We want to create a completely informal cycling community built around the joy of pushing hard and racing a bit together with like-minded individuals. Many of you have a lot of power in your legs, but may end up training alone or with the same group a bit too often... come and join us! The plan is that on our Wednesday rides and on Saturdays, we will try to get more different meeting points into play over time with the ambition of covering as broadly as possible.

Concept: We ride together at a relaxed chatting pace from the meeting point out to the day's circuit, which will typically take place on remote country roads. We roll through a warm-up lap so everyone knows the route before we increase the pace, give the race a go, and ride 'some laps like a bike race'. We catch our breath, say thank you for today... and ride home happy and tired.
It sounds really exciting, but is it something for me?
Yes, if you have a functional racing bike, a reasonable local knowledge, and can handle a potential flat tire yourself, should the unfortunate happen. We generally do not wait for flat tires and similar defects, but you have plenty of opportunity to loop back in when you are ready.

I have never ridden in a group before… is that a problem?
Yes, we don't know in advance how many will sign up from time to time... but for the sake of safety in the group, we would like you to know how to maintain your line in a sprint, give warnings about potholes in the road, etc. If you want to cross the 'line' first, it probably requires a decent spring form. Otherwise, your level is secondary. We will regroup after we have completed laps. And you are welcome to ride as many laps as you have time and desire for on the day.

Does it cost me anything to ride along?
No, nothing other than wind in your face, sweat in your eyes, and maybe a few butterflies in your stomach.

Where exactly should I drive if I want to participate in the 12.16 Saturday Ride?
Find the corner of Frederiksborgvej and Kollekollevej (just outside Værløse). Please be ready at 9:30 – even if the last ones might need a few extra minutes to arrive. After a short 'welcome to... any questions?' we will depart.

Where can I find the important obligation text that is usually present at such events?
Here it comes! The traffic rules must be followed at all times. All participation is at your own risk. Take care of yourselves and each other.

Isn't there still a bit of practical stuff missing?
Yes. If necessary, we will divide into groups based on level and interest.
